Physiotherapist
At the Good News Hospital, physiotherapy is a big need. Across almost every patient group - children with club foot, adults with pneumonia, ladies with vesicovaginal fistula, amputees, burns patients, and children with neurodysability to name a few – specialist physiotherapy could have a profound impact on quality of life.
At present there is no physiotherapy department at The Good News Hospital.
The Project is seeking a long-term physiotherapist with a desire to establish a physiotherapy program. short term physiotherapists able to serve for 6 months or more would also be welcome.
You will need to be able to speak, read and write some French, as it is the working language of the hospital You would be expected to invest time at the beginning of your ministry in learning Malagasy and Tsimihety. This is not a paid role; you will need to raise your own funds for flights and your expenses during your time in Mandritsara. Short-term volunteers are generally self-fund and longer-term volunteers are sent by a church or missionary organisation. Good quality housing is available locally. There is a teacher who supports the education of missionary children. All workers should have the prayerful support of their home church.
