Change in leadership at Ambohimandroso Church

Thank you for praying for the “the little church” in Mandritsara.

At the beginning of the project, Antanantsimihety church (“the big church”) was built in Mandritsara town. As it grew and grew, and the need for a Bible believing church in the area immediately around the hospital became evident, Ambohimandroso church  (“the little church”) was planted. In recent years, this church was pastored by David Ratovo, a wonderful man who also provided spiritual oversight for the Good News Project. He has recently retired, and the church is now under the leadership of a group of elders, with Mr Misa as the lead elder (he is the director of finance and administration at the hospital).

Please pray for the church during this time of change in leadership. We had a very encouraging Easter together, celebrating the baptism of 5 young people in the church. Baptism is such a wonderful gospel picture, and it is a really privilege to be able to do it in public, with many passers by stopping to watch on. We also held an open air service on easter morning, near the baptism site, which was a wonderfully joyous time of celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

Thank you for your prayers!
