David and Mirana Ratovo have written as follows:
We have now been in Mandritsara for 3½ years. At first it was planned that we would only stay 2 years! God had his plan and we are happy to submit to it. But now we feel that our time at the Good News Hospital is coming to an end. We have therefore decided to leave Mandritsara in April 2021. Please pray that the Lord will raise up someone to take over as Spiritual Advisor within the Project, and also for a pastor for the Baptist Church of Ambohimandroso, just next to the hospital.
With Mr. Berton (hospital evangelist), we are developing a manual to help evangelists who do pioneering work and follow up on cell groups and churches that are planted. Some churches have not made much progress, even some that have been planted for many years. Perhaps one reason is that the follow-up was done by different people and the messages and teachings depended on the person or team visiting. The objective of the manual will therefore be to provide a syllabus of systematic Bible teaching so that anyone who visits the place will refer to it to find out where the group has reached. We have already completed the outline plan, but we still have to flesh it out. It still requires a lot of work. Please pray that we can finish before I leave.
In Mandritsara, as elsewhere, alcoholism is a plague. Unfortunately, some of the workers are affected by this problem. So I was asked to bring them together for teaching and help. So far I have done 2 sessions and still plan to do 1 or 2 more. Following these meetings, three people came to see me to receive help. At the moment, therefore, I follow up on 2 men once a week. Pray that it will be the Word of God with the Holy Spirit that will touch the hearts of these men and that the Lord will heal them thoroughly. May He also give me wisdom and discernment.
Thank you for all your prayers.
Your brother and sister in the Lord, David and Mirana
Mme Rindra is known in the project as the DAF (Director of Admin and Finance). It is a crucial role within the project which employs so many people and includes a hospital, school, nursing school, radio station and community health team. She has brought expertise and care to the whole project, with a very spiritually-minded approach. Sadly, after 3 years, she is leaving in the next few weeks. Her husband and now all her children are in the capital, and it is important that they all be together. They have all made sacrifices for these 3 years. Please pray for them, and please pray that the Lord may call a new DAF – a godly man or woman with experience and skill to take over this vital position which has a huge influence on the whole project.
